Vanceva™ Sapphire color PVB interlayer is selected to create the bright blue tinted laminated glass that clad the giant shoe church façade. The church is located in the town of Budai in Jiayi County, southern Taiwan and will be open to public on February 8th 2016.

The space-frame facade structure measure 11 meters wide and 17 meters high constructed using 1,269 steel pipes cladded with 320 prices of triangular shape laminated glass consisting 10mm fully tempered glass on both sides sandwiching Vanceva Sapphire color polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers manufactured by Eastman Chemical Company. The venue is design for wedding photo shots and ceremony but not regular church services, according to local officials. According to local officials, the shoe design structure was inspired by a local story.

In the 1960s, a lady from the impoverished region suffered from Blackfoot disease due to polluted underground water whose wedding was cancelled after legs were amputated following the disease and live out her days in a church. The high heel is intended to honor her memory and to remind people the important of the environment.
