The school Saint Exupéry is a nursery and elementary school for 3 to 12 year old children.

It is located in the town of Bois Colombes, north-west of Paris, essentially a suburb of the capital. Industries, which were once florishing there, abandoned large plots of land after their departure. These parcels of land progressively have been urbanized, resulting in an increase in population, among other things. Consequently, there was a need to enlarge the small neighbourhood school built in 1993. Originally holding 5 classrooms, the school now has been increased to 16 classrooms. Our architectural project includes two buildings joined together which share certain common facilities such as a cafeteria and a media library. The first building is completely new and houses the elementary students; the second, the nursery school, is the rehabilitation and extension of the pre-existing building. The original structure has been preserved in its entirety. Concerned about the specificity of each structure, not only its setting and its usage, but also its occupants, we worked with passion, dedication and care. The design of equipment destined to be used by children is undoubtedly the type of project which motivates us the most, and probably best corresponds to our architectural expression. Sometimes described as romantic or organic, our architecture is above all humanist and contextual. Because the building was destined to be occupied by children who often arrive from other destinations with their spontaneous enthusiasm and their own dreams, but, also sometimes with their fears, we have designed a bright and colorful school which is benevolent, warm and welcoming. It is a happy place.
