Stay cool and connected with Saflex

As vehicles shift to electric and fuel‑efficient designs, demand for better solar control across every glass surface rises to preserve cabin comfort and energy efficiency. Modern glazing must also support:

  • Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) sensors and cameras
  • Reduced electromagnetic interference (EMI) to enable reliable external communications
  • Advanced head‑up displays (HUDs)
  • Acoustic and privacy features

Balancing cost and solar control is critical. Our portfolio offers cost-effective alternatives to IR-reflective coatings with Saflex Evoca S series and Saflex Solar Connect.

What is solar absorbing PVB and why it matters

Solar-absorbing PVB interlayers absorb heat‑causing infrared (IR) wavelengths inside the laminate. These interlayers help reduce cabin heat, lower HVAC load and maintain visibility. Evoca S series uses advanced nanoparticles for top IR absorption; Solar Connect is tuned to let through critical near‑IR bands so sensors and HUDs work reliably.

IR‑absorbing interlayers: the practical choice for laminators and OEMs

Choose an IR‑absorbing interlayer when you need a cost‑effective, easy‑to‑process solution that improves cabin comfort and preserves critical sensor performance.
  • Simplify lamination and bending of complex curved glass when glass options are limited or production volumes are small.
  • Reduce RF signal interference between cabin and exterior systems.
  • Balance priorities by selecting for value and solar performance or for sensor and HUD compatibility.
