At Tyrifjord Golf Course, located on an island in Norway’s fifth largest lake, durability and design go hand in hand. The course required signage that could withstand harsh Nordic conditions—strong winds, heavy snow, and year-round exposure to the elements—without compromising on appearance.
To meet these demands, Modum Glassindustri designed and installed striking glass signs using Saflex Structural PVB interlayers. This solution provides the necessary stiffness and strength to resist challenging weather, while maintaining the clarity and premium look expected at a prestigious golf club.
Beyond performance, safety was also key. Saflex Structural helps ensure that the signage remains intact and secure, minimizing potential damage to the course while continuing to stand strong.
The result is modern, durable golf course signage that enhances the playing experience and reflects the high standards of Tyrifjord Golf Course.
Providing superior structural capacity versus conventional PVB, Saflex Structural interlayer is a PVB interlayer designed for applications where interlayer rigidity and high glass adhesion requirements for laminated glass are critical. In properly designed systems, Saflex Structural is capable of containing glass shards at high and low temperatures after impact and under load—even in open edge laminated glass.
This proprietary software, developed by Eastman in conjunction with industry glass experts, is based on the methodologies of European (EN) and international (ASTM and ISO) standards for glass characteristics and design.
