Product and system description (Combination of glass and pvb, frame details, total surface, etc):

Tempered laminated glass 10.10.CAC, of total nominal thickness 21.14 mm. Each glass consists of 2 sheets of 10mm tempered glass laminated together with 3 PVBs, the first and the last PVB sheet being Vanceva Deep Red while the median is Vanceva Cool White. Total glass surface was about 1400 m2 (Total Vanceva PVB used: 4200 m2).

The reading rooms of the library are glass boxes that "hang" outside the central round library building like closed balconies, all set underground below an artificially made earth hill. All 5 external faces of each glass box (up, bottom and 3 sides) are made with these 10.10.CAC tempered glass giving a very impressive deep red colour effect at the surrounding covered area. These deep red coloured glass boxes are almost the only coloured architectural element being the central idea of the architect, inside a building that the main visible material is naked cement.
